Wrinkle correction, lip augmentation

Anti-Wrinkle and Fillere - Lip Enhancement Methods

The substance used attenuates muscle contraction, acting at the level of the neuromuscular junction through a myorelaxant action. It has been used since 1975 by doctors to correct squinting in children, facial tics and uncontrollable blinking.

The principle is based on the myorelaxant properties of the substance, the main purpose being to reduce the action of the muscles to alleviate horizontal or vertical facial wrinkles. It allows a smoothing of the skin texture and promotes a rejuvenating effect by relaxing muscle tension. A more appropriate distribution of tension between antagonistic muscles in the face leads to an improvement in muscle balance, resulting in better facial harmony and balance.

The duration of the effect can vary depending on many factors. In general, it is recommended to repeat the treatment every 3 to 9 months.

The substance can also be used as an effective method of treatment for excessive sweating (hypersweating) in the armpits, hands or feet. It acts locally on the sweat glands, blocking the production of sweat. Repeat treatment is recommended between 3 months and 1 year, depending on individual response.

Fillers, aim to correct, in a simple and quick way, certain signs of ageing or facial irregularities, adding volume in areas where it is needed.

The most common corrections fall into four categories:

  • Depressions: nasolabial grooves (from the nasal wing to the corner of the mouth), at the corner of the mouth, on either side of the chin, cleft lip and chin, dark circles, etc.
  • Wrinkles: forehead, between the eyebrows, corner of the eyes, cheeks, chin, around the mouth, etc.
  • Lips: contouring, fattening or volume enhancement (lip augmentation).
  • Volume correction: cheekbones, chin, jawline, cheeks, nose, scar sequelae (acne, chicken pox, post-traumatic, etc.).

Although these imperfections are not completely eliminated, they will be significantly reduced by using these injectable products. To maintain the results obtained, it is usually recommended to repeat the treatment at 6-12 month intervals.

Chemical peels and lasers

Dr. Porumb has expertise and experience in handling various types of medical lasers and holds a Master's degree in medical lasers from the University of Paris.

The term "laser" comes from the acronym LASER (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) and is a surgical technique that allows controlled photovaporisation. Depending on the different types of lasers used, we can achieve more precise surgery with faster healing, or stimulate and redirect collagen fibres deep in the skin, or remove tattoos or achieve permanent hair removal.

The peel consists of a controlled burning of the skin of the face, neckline or hands, with the aim of improving its appearance in terms of wrinkles and spots that may be present. There are several types of peel, and the agents used can range from herbal to chemical substances. Depending on the agent used, its concentration and the time of application, the effect can vary from simple exfoliation to genuine abrasion, with the effect of reducing or even eliminating skin imperfections.
