Șerban PORUMB

Having an exceptional international experience, accumulated in 23 years in plastic and aesthetic surgery; and over 12,000 active surgical interventions, Dr Porumb Șerban is considered an expert leader in rhinoplasty and breast surgery interventions, being recognized worldwide for the beauty and naturalness of the results obtained, the renowned Professor James L. Baker, from the United States (the surgeon with the greatest experience in the world in breast implant, the one who developed the classification of capsular contraction) is considering him as “a leader and a star in Europe through the results obtained in rhinoplasty and breast augmentation".

Dr Porumb Șerban is the first plastic surgeon from Romania to be invited to give a lecture at the American Rhinoplasty Society, the oldest and most elite rhinoplasty society in the world, and the first Romanian to be invited to give a lecture at the renowned congress in Las Vegas, Vegas Cosmetic Surgery, about endoscopic transaxillary breast augmentation, the future of breast augmentation surgery, Dr Porumb Șerban being the first to introduce for the first time in Romania the endoscopic axillary technique in a hidden fold at the top of the armpit for breast implant surgery.

Dr Porumb Șerban completed 6 years of plastic surgery residency from 2000 to 2006 in the United States and Western Europe (two fellowships in Orlando, Florida and Los Angeles, California, internships in the most renowned hospitals and clinics in Paris, France and Lisbon, Portugal) after which he returned home to Romania to bring his acquired knowledge with the most renowned plastic surgeons in the world. An example would be working for 1 year with Professor Laurent Lantieri (Paris, France) the surgeon who developed the concept and practiced for the first time in the world total face transplantation. Also in Paris, France, he acquired his skills by completing the Master's Degree in "Surgical Techniques in Carcinological and Reconstructive Breast Surgery" (academic year 2003-2004) and "Medical Lasers" (academic year 2004-2005), being the first surgeon in Romania to acquire these skills.

He is one of the few surgeons in the world who successfully performs all types of rhinoplasty procedures (closed, open, primary or secondary) including total nose reconstruction or congenital cleft lip and palate, as well as the only plastic surgeon in Romania who performs all types of surgical techniques in breast surgery, such as endoscopic axillary technique in a hidden fold at the top of the armpit, correction of tuberous breasts, breast lift and augmentation in one operation, etc.

Dr. Șerban Porumb was distinguished by exceptional results obtained since high school (2nd prize at the National Physics Olympiad 1988, winner of the International Physics Competition Schwarz 1991), graduated from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Iuliu Hațieganu" in Cluj Napoca class of 1998, becoming board certified plastic surgeon in 2006 (exam in Bucharest) and then senior consultant plastic surgeon (exam in Bucharest) since 2011 in the specialty of plastic and reconstructive surgery.

He is passionate about art and sculpture, a passion inherited from his grandfather, having in his family an established artist in sculpture whose work is recognized and appreciated worldwide, but also about medicine, having both parents doctors, choosing plastic and aesthetic surgery precisely because of the happy combination between the two passions.
